I have mounted numerous squirrels... I finally lost count!
Here are pictures of the first two squirrels that I mounted. This squirrel was huge.. it
measured 13" long!
I made it's body out of excelsior and
clay, and mounted it in a climbing position. |
The baby gray squirrel was my
first squirrel mount, so it doesn't look nearly as
good as my latest one.
My dogs got it for me (luckily
without any damages!). I think it may have been
somewhat malnourished; that may be the reason for
it being so skinny.
I made the body out of excelsior, and
built up the legs and hips with clay. The
feet were injected with an embalming fluid called
"Balmex" to preserve them.
